Thousands more Cheshire and Merseyside patients are getting crucial diagnostic tests within weeks thanks to an innovative use of data.<\/p>\n

Figures show that since March 2024, 15,000 fewer people have waited more than six weeks for radiology diagnostics such as ultrasounds and MRIs.<\/p>\n

The improvement is thanks to the Cheshire and Merseyside Imaging Dashboard (CAMDASH), created by the Cheshire and Merseyside Radiology Imaging Network (CAMRIN), which provides a single, central view of radiology performance across 11 NHS Trusts. It brings together real-time information on activity, waiting lists, and capacity into one secure platform.<\/p>\n

Developed through close collaboration between radiology teams, data specialists, and NHS partners, CAMDASH give staff a clear, consistent view of how services are performing. It helps spot early signs of long waits, backlogs, or data issues – allowing Trusts to act quickly, protect patients, and reduce inequalities in access to care.<\/p>\n

CAMDASH also supports cancer pathway monitoring, equipment utilisation, and workforce planning. By linking operational and performance data, it allows teams to spot trends – such as changes in referral patterns or rising DNA (Did Not Attend) rates – and take proactive action to improve patient access and experience.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the future vision for CAMDASH is to integrate data from specialties such as pathology, pharmacy, and genomics creating a holistic platform to connect disease processes and improve patient care pathways.<\/p>\n
